Sevda Kal Sözer received her BA in Painting from Ankara. She has a master's degree with her "self-portrait" thesis from Hacettepe University, Social Sciences Institute. She worked as a graphic designer for Ankara State Opera and Ballet for 12 years. She is still a designer at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She is inspired by the notion of "meronymy", the relation between the part and the whole. Sevda, as an artist, fixes by creating and creating by dividing into parts. The structure of the pieces and their relationship compose a playful quality to her paintings.
